This is my short 2.5min film I made for a John Woo contest on MySpace. I lost, so here it is.

Yeah, I used my friends and friends of friends to act in the film.
what did you shoot this on?
We found about the contest about two and a half weeks beforehand. We had an abbreviated pre-production of about a week, shot in one really long day, and did the editing and effects in 8 days. It good that my vacation was right after that - so I could catch up my sleep. :)
I bet a lot of work went into that 2.5 min.
I think its a little to "typical" and "predictable" action movie stuff. I think we've seen those scenes and scenarios in movies before. Maybe a better or more creative twist at the end..?
But I appreciate hard work and I can tell you tried to do something here...good job!
I have to admit though, after watching your videos you seem to be very inclined for special effects and such. You're especially in tune to speeding up video and slowing it down. Wow. Keep it coming. And I'm sure we all love the VHS system you must be working with.
That big guy was amazing, well done
(Where was that filmed?!)
I filmed at my friends' apartment in Culver City, CA, who were very awesome and helpful throughout the process.
Just out of my own pocket... so not much. The biggest expenses were food, prop guns, and breakaway glass.
interesting what can be done with an apartment, a backyard and a few tools....
And of course great friends with great ideas
(I'm working hard to get a few more videos up, but it may take a bit.)
Thanks for watching Patrick.
I just lit as much as I could, and other than that, I used Colorista and Final Cut's built-in plugin to color-correct the film. No Magic Bullet Looks though.
Yes, I used the Letus35 Flip adapter with Nikon lenses, except when I really needed the extra boost in light.
I like it.
Great film nevertheless!
