This is my first short video shot on my new EX-1. It was shot over two separate days in the Watagan State Forest near where I live on the Central Coast of NSW Australia. Unfortunately on day one I forgot to change my settings from the conference shoot I had the day before so I ended up capturing it all at 1440x1080 50i. The next day, realizing the error of my ways I went back to reshoot at 1920x1080 25p, but due to a large number of logging truck drivers abusing me for taking up half of the road I could only shoot five shots before the truckies came back with baseball bats. I cut the video in Final Cut Pro and did a really simple grade in Color. Having spent my entire broadcast career shooting News, sport and Advertorials, I am loving going out and shooting "art" for a change.

Very very well done! I loved how you moved the camera and then edited to the moves. The music was perfect. It is easy to tell you know what you are doing. I saved your film. Roger

did you use some kind of dolly for that first shot? (like the wally dolly or something?) - Real nice look to the vid dude, v.cool... damn loggers, the thought of all those trees being cut down kinda annoys me...

    Cheers

Yes I used a wally dolly. Set it up on the side of the road, which is what got the loggers all feisty- that and the fact that I set up on a bend at the bottom of a hill!

    Hi Shaun,

really liked this - I'm going to have to head up there with the A1. I've got a home made jib if you want to make use of that.

Brilliant. I like the moves. Now I'm going to have to look into this wally dolly thing.

Never made it to your park but I did get to see the Blue Mtns., the caves and the falls when I was there about 10 years ago. I loved all of your country that I saw, but that part in particular.

Thanks for sharing your shots and for bringing back those memories.

Thanks for your encouragement Tripp. The Blue Mountains are spectacular. I don't get there much- about a 3 hour drive from here but back in my news days I used to fly over them a lot in the helicopter. I recommend the Wally Dolly if you can get them where you are. They are inexpensive, easy to set up and give you a really nice, smooth track
