WWII- Special Effects Semester Project
I made this video for my final project in Chase Mitchell's special effects and compositing class at Utah Valley University . It was shot on 0 budget. We had 2 authentic M1 Garands and one German Luger and some airsoft guns. Any questions? Let me know!

Specialy liked the opening scene.
Good job man.
I read in one of these comments you were going to LA, when's that?Good luck there!
Oh yeah, one last question.
How do you put the 'widescreen' bars on top and bottom? I have FCE 4
You going to film or regular school?
I'm thinking of not going to film school, instead getting experience making short films, work with other (more experienced) people and just learning on the way.
I'm going to regular school in video production. And I got a job in LA and now live there. I work for a company called drumchannel.com editing and compositing. it's pretty sweet.
No problemo on the late response.
Was surprised to see green screening anywhere in the effects... Nice keying, had me fooled.
One quick critique. Right about 1:00, you see the first dirt explosion. The camera shakes with the impact but the dirt stays stationary. The second explosion does the same thing but it is less obvious due to its proximity to the camera. I don't know if you added the camera shake later or filmed it. If you added it later, be sure to link the effect onto all the layers you are working with (in After Effects I would do this with an adjustment layer on top of everything). If you filmed the jitter, then you need to motion track the shot and apply the tracking data to the explosion so that it looks like it is part of the scene.
It has already been mentioned and I understand you fixed it in a later version but the see through letterbox is kind of annoying. Personally, I don't think the film needed letter boxing as it was already shot wide enough. But I guess it varies from person to person.
Hope this has been helpful. Loved your video, good luck.
