Thanks Phil! Been looking forward to this. As always, fantastic choice of music. I'm glad you got some good 60fps footage of the "card snappers". Now we can see how they work their magic and entice us to collect all of those trading cards... that's what they are right? ;)

They are, I ended up on street trying to exchange my doubles with them. I now have the complete set. My girlfriend will be so chuffed when I give them to her as a present!

long shots are great. I like the manipulation of slow and fast it gives a great feel to how odd a town vegas really is.

Great work! I can imagine all the stops you took to complete this much footage. Must have been pretty busy running all over the place.

Great stuff again, Philip. Music wise, you might like a group called Sparklehorse. I was going to mention the parallels to the Piccadilly video, but it seems like you already knew that :)

Much like Terminator 2, the sequel is easily the equal. Great work, Phil, stunning as always... although you have now given me a craving to track down episodes of Monkey Dust.

Nice vid. I'd be scared though to hit the city alone with such an expensive camera.

Awesome stuff Phil. I hope I grow up to be just like you! How did you do the pans on the time lapse?
  • Philip Bloom 26 days ago
Cheers Shaun. The timeline is 720p, the timelpase was 1080p so I zoomed and panned in the edit without losing resolution

    lovely.

fyi, if you remove the ad for your site i'll be more inclined to feature your stuff :)
  • Philip Bloom 26 days ago
Hi Blake, not really an ad for my site more for copyright reasons. I put the banner on the videos as I let people download HD which I don't want to stop.
  • Blake Whitman 26 days ago
i hear you, maybe you can just put it in the credits and specifically mention copyright. We just don't feature stuff that has those sort of watermarks... I just think it ruins the video. And your videos are awesome.

Great video! The letus ultimate looks great so far, I guess it's hard to tell if it's leaps and bounds better without using it yourself though because the other stuff I've seen from you looks just as good.

One questions though, what lenses are you using on your adapter and how far back are you usually? No one is looking into the camera, at all you shots looks so good you'd think they'd be extras. I don't understand it when I do that everyone is looking and just killing the shots.

No kidding, It's a real art form. it takes a lot of patience and extra rolling to get enough ( when I do it ). Also, it's funny because when I set the camera up and start recording I usually find it better to step about 5 to 10 feet away from the camera and sort of look of away from it. People generally will think it's not on. If you are looking attentively at the viewfinder, people run like the wind away. Last night I got shut down by the police at Sawgrass Mills Mall for filming stuff like this.

Another great film. Again, your choice of music is perfect. I love your work. I save all of them as I see them. You are in a file all by yourself! My Philip Bloom collectors file of excellent movies. (I gotta get that EX1)

What's ultimate about that Letus? What's different?
  • Philip Bloom 14 days ago
loads of things. There is lots of info on my blog at philipbloom.net but mostly sharper image, stop down to f22, hight shutter speeds, adjustable back focus, spinning glass and it also lets you play ps3 games on the ground glass using a small adaptor.

    Love the yawn at 1:10.

Question- When doing close ups of strangers, do you get permission beforehand or just zoom in from far away and do it?
  • Philip Bloom 1 day ago
    sometimes ask mostly don't!
