Mule Deer - Canon HG10

Some mule deer in the mountains above Tehachapi, CA.
This is my very first footage with my HG10. I am not too happy with the audio. I was using an Azden SMX-10 shotgun mic, I had heard great things about it. But since I can't control the external mic volume from the camera, I think its always going to give me that hisssss. Which drives me nuts. But other than that, the video looks nice and crisp, I'm very happy so far. I'm still playing with Vegas 8.0, seeing what I can do to enhance some things. And also still playing with the export settings. Any input is appreciated. thanks!

I tried something this afternoon directly in Vegas using a plug in using track fx in the timeline. I chose the green track fx icon and chose the noise reduction plug in and it worked. It got rid of the hiss.
