Canon HF-100 CMOS/OIS :(
I tested out the Canon HF-100 OIS/CMOS and I was very disappointed. (In my friends race car) My 5 year old Sony Digital 8 Camcorder is much better. If the performance is the same as in my friends car, time to return it. I really liked this camera too :(
I guess the Panasonic 3CCD, I might have to trade the Canon in for that.
Update: I returned the Canon Hf-100 and bought a Panasonic SD9 3CCD (No crappy CMOS). I will have some race footage in about two weeks.
Update #2 The SD9 was worse than the Canon...... Sticking with old digital 8 camera and gonna try an Aiptek.

Otherwise the SD9 won't perform as well in low-light and has slightly less resolution. I guess you can't have everything (well you could buy both).
A simple compact camera might work as well here even without steadyshot (high shutter and then use software correction to stabilize it).

If you were going to use it for race videos (rare) then don't get a cmos cam.
It's meant for normal usage and those who want filmlike quality on a budget, not extreme sports.

Oh, and for the record my NSX is running 1000 lb springs front and 800 lb rear so it's not a "soft" suspension by any means!
Here is another video post processing with iStabilizer

You should post it too.

Starting to lock it in for me, hate to say it sony. I wonder if turning off image stabilization on the HF10/HF100 will do the same
I heard of others doing the same thing but with a thick piece of foam on the floor between the floor carpet and the tripod feet.
My footage was not race footage but some of our city srreets intoduce plenty of vibration from rough pavement.
Cam was HF100...All HD will have some degree of problem with movement.
