insects is a composite animation i put together for my experimental animation class at uni.

the background footage was shot inside an abandoned house just up the street from my house, which has had the back walls burnt out at one stage. i shot a slow pan in high definition on a sony hdr-fx7, which i dragged into after effects for motion tracking.

i then took a bunch of clips that i'd rendered out of one of my processing sketches (which generates patterns by drawing lines, varying their position on the canvas according to perlin noise), luma keyed them and placed them on the background shot.
