We have a dedicated monitor for only color calibration which makes it much easier than relying on computers monitors that vary by brand, model, size, etc and that helps a ton.
We also adjust each scene for saturdation color accuracy, contrast etc. Some scenes need major tweaking of gama, individual color channels, saturation, brightness contrast, etc. and some scenes need only very minor adjustments.
Our goal is to make each scene as accurate in color and depth as possible.
We film with a very neautral and washed color setting and then boost and adjust all color and contrast in post. I would say a typical CC routine for us is to boost saturation, boost gamma slightly and then adjust contrast using the waveform for maximum accuracy. Like stated beofore some scenes do not need this much and some scenes need much much more.
