This is an example of a minimalist video and sound recording setup that achieves good results.

I used the Rode NT4 X-Y coincident stereo microphone, directly into the Sony PMW-EX1 video camera, which has a flat frequency response from 20-20,000Hz.

The mic was positioned with the help of a 25' extention cable, in front of and just below the music director's music stand, about 15' in front of the singers.

This is a small chapel, so I used Adobe Premiere's Reverb plugin to give it some acoustics that give it a "big church" sound.

I should note that it was do dimly lit in there that the music director has to use small lamps on her music stand to enable her to see the music. The EX1's superb light sensitivity created a picture that makes it seem as if the church were brightly-lit. I did use +3dB gain, but the noise was negligable.

All told, it was the lightest, "one carry bag" setup I have ever done, with results that rival a much larger and more cumbersome a/v setup.
