3. Lay Me Away

About a man with no luck at all, even when it comes to suicide.

My final project for my video production course. Sorry the quality isnt too good. Had to compress it twice to get it on here, plus I'm still figuring out the right way to encode videos in FCP. I may upload this again in a better quality if I have time.

Shot on a Canon HG10 with a Twoneil DIY35mm adapter.
Canon 50mm f/1.8
merkury optics .45x wide lens
Cinemode

Best viewed in full screen with black bars.

Thanks to anyone who watches.

Great Shots you have a serious eye for this stuff. Keep up the good work.

I also liked the aspect ratio you use for this one. what is it anyways 1708x720?

Thanks alot buddy. I wanted to use this aspect ratio for the dvd but couldnt burn it while keeping this resolution. DVD studio pro would always convert it to 4:3 instead of 16:9

I'm about to send you an e-mail with some stuff you should check out.

Really liked your film I saved it. I am always interested in other film makers especially if they use the same camera as me. I love the HG10. Your choice of music was excellent. Very well edited. Keep up the good work.

Should have shown for the tub/drowning suicide the water draining out.. (maybe speed it up 2x, or put a really big hole in the tub)
that'd really show this guy has bad luck.. haha

    I was expecting it lol

If only I had the money to make a hole in the bathtub.
    Thanks for the comment

    were you thinking of...
    ...there will be blood?
    when you did this
  • John 3 months ago
Ha ha I'm trying to figure out how this reminded you of there will be blood. Violin/music score?

    You know, the style, atmosphere
    clothes, props, set
all very backwoodsy, w/ a serious theme and such
The main actor looked similar too

Thanks alot Kyle, I really like your videos. I'm so jealous of your Jib arm.

Thanks! I would highly recommend saving up for one (or building a DIY one). There is so many good shots you can pull off with a jib.
