85. Bird Flu kills four swans in Japan and creates alarm
3 months ago
Anna Chan:
And authorities have discovered four dead swans in Japan's Akita prefecture that died from Bird Flu. An inspection is underway of fifteen nearby farms in northern Japan.

It's the first case of HN51 bird flu in Japan since March 2007.
Inspectors are searching farms in a 30 mile radius for any more birds that may be carrying the highly contagious virus.
Japan has been stepping up checks of birds after a series of bird flu outbreaks in South Korea over the past month.
South Korea reported a suspected bird flu outbreak at a chicken farm in Ulsan City earlier this week.
Thats after already finding 20 cases of the deadly virus in recent weeks.
More than 5 million chickens and ducks were killed to stop the disease from spreading.
Officials in Japan say that there are no chicken farms near where the four swans were discovered.
There has also been no reported unusual incidents at the nearby farms.
No human deaths from the disease have been reported in South Korea or Japan.
