At first I was going on a completely different direction with this piece. I wanted a dynamic movement in the background while the foreground remained in normal speed. Since we shot the footage very late in the night (2-3 o'clock if I'm not mistaken) there were only a few cars passing by. So I decided to go on a completely different direction. Do the piece on really slow motion. This is a 20 second movie stretched to 2 minutes. I'm quite happy with the result though I would have preferred a 3 or 4 minute piece. It would accentuate even more the feeling of movement in a static picture.
The footage is also color corrected and adjusted to give the appropriate feeling.

I love the colour of this piece, the colour gave a fantastic feeling to it. I would also love to see it done from different angles.

You say 20 seconds > 2 minutes? How did you maintain such an apparently smooth framerate? Did you shoot with some crazy overcranking or something, or am I just reading your description the wrong way?

    Hello again!

Mauricio, the music isn't part of a song. It's samples layered on top of other samples with one main melody.

Dan and "Wasted Lives" the color grading was done is magic bullet looks program. Very versatile and easy to use. Other than that my camcorder setup is basically that. Just the HV30. Have to save up for the other stuff...

Edgar the technique used is basically image interpolation. What you basically do is use a program that supports that kind of thing. In my case apple motion. After effects does that too. And what it does is to create middle frames for the already existing ones. The cache files for those though are very big. For that 20 second footage I had to spare 4.5GB just for the cache. So be sure to have lots of space...

It's interesting to see the soft lit backdrop of the city lights and yellow tint against the main subject. It seems like the use of those cars and lights did have an overall effect. And the use of music really brought into focus. I mean the entire piece. Well done.. mate

It's like she is looking into my soul. It's incredibly powerful. Almost ghastly. Nice work.

Your model is exquisite and the film was thoroughly satisfying to me. I am going out there to copy you. Even if her emotions are questionable I want your model now, send her to me now,

I really enjoyed that. The score sounded like something out of Luc Besson film in the late 80s/early 90s. Le Grand Bleu. Very touching.
