Video of our trip to Sedona/Grand Canyon. All shots are handheld. Video would look lots better if shot with a tripod/steadycam. Need to figure out how to incorporate one of those options into my hikes. I used the Rode StereoVideoMic with the included dead cat. The window on the Helicopter was open and I was partially holding the camera out the window. I used automatic settings on HV20 with a circular polarizer filter. Edited in Vegas Pro 8.

You can always buy a monopod, which condenses better.

Thanks Eugenia. I think my tripod can pull apart into a monopod. I will try that out. I may need to get something that isn't as heavy.

Sedona is such an amazing place. Did you go to the airport for sunset? The view is incredible.

    Hi Todd,

Yes, Went to the airport for sunset. It was amazing. I took some video and everything (including people) had an orange glow.

I agree, Sedona is an amazing place. I can't wait to go back. The Helicopter ride was wonderful as well.

I just picked up a mono pod at Wall mart for 24$ it has a rubber foot and a metal spike foot depending on terrain. It could be used as a hiking stick also becouse it has a rubber cover for the camera mount. Also it has an attachment for a gun mount. I can't wait to try it out when I go to Zion and Bryce Next week.

Thanks Brian. I will check it out at Walmart. Good luck on your trip. I heard Bryce is beautiful.

Edit: went to Walmart and picked one up for under $21. Thanks again Brian!
