Just a short quick film I made to test out my new HV20. This video was specifically compiled for entry in the HV20.com film festival, of which my user name is Tiny.

Man, I gotta admit, I am not smart enough to understand this... maybe I need to watch it few more times :-)

    STORY: +5
Too deep so it confuses me :-)

    DIRECTING: +6
    Good.

    ACTING: +5
Even though there's only V.O, but the actors are stiff and not natural, maybe the story calls for it but I think it's a bit bore to look at him starring at the camera.

    CINEMATOGRAPHY/LIGHTING: +7
    Very good images through out.

    EDITING: +8
    Very good.

    MUSIC: +7
    Good.

Great efforts and I had a good time watching it (few times already and more to come ;-))

I thought that the stuff being said in this movie was pretty neat.... I also loved when you had the sun set, then rise again a little and set again. But yeah, it was nice to watch something different from all of the other movies. Well done.

as far as content goes, this blows away all the entries by FAR. however, it does not seem to be as visually compelling (IMHO), it seems too static. I think some handheld camera work would have worked well. I'm interested in seeing what else you come up with.

Thanks. Yeah this is more of a tech demo than anything else. It was really just me learning the basics of the camera and then editing a 24p timeline in a program that was never meant to do such things. I proved it can be done. :D

I have a good, funny story that I'm filming next and now that I have all the basics out of the way I should be able to shoot stuff on par with my other SD films I've made. Check them out at my heavily under construction site: paperdeath.com
