What do you think about the manual focus? How are the controls?

Manual focus on the Hf100 is almost unusable. There are no physical controls. You have to use the jog button on the left of the viewfinder and risk shaking the camera. Maybe helpful for probably pre-focusing before shooting.
I haven't tried the remote, but that might work as well. Which assumes you would need the camera on a tripod (meaning a static shot). Fairly limited use.

What is this remote you're talking about? :)

Is there any way to make the focus in quick menu or something. Canon scrimped in wrong places with this camera. Zebra, peaking and better manual focus are precious. :(
