This was my piece for the Fresh art show held @ Middlesex Lounge, Cambridge, MA on 5/4/08. While it was an interactive piece in the show, what you're seeing now is what happens when no one is interacting. The interaction was controlled by a MIDI keyboard that had 4 keys mapped to different function. The first 3 keys controlled which ball set would be released next. The last key controlled if the balls would 'go crazy' or not.

Tech details:
This was built in Processing (processing.org). I used OpenGL for the real-time 3D rendering. The balls are apart of a particle system with low gravity. Each set of balls has a spring between them, of varying strength depending on their color.

    Nice! The constant movement of the camera is really effective for giving a feeling for the space. Sometimes it's hard to see these visually simple kinds of systems in 3D on a 2D screen, but this works.
