The Myth of Pandora: Long ago the tale begins when Prometheus stole the gift of fire from the gods. So the gods took revenge on man, by creating a woman, a beautiful evil. All the gods & goddesses gathered to gift Pandora before she was sent to earth to carry the deep curiosity and vessel not to be opened. When she first appeared before the gods and mortals wonder seized them. But Pandora's trickster nature became least of mankind's worries, for she carried a jar with her containing burdensome toil and sickness that brings death to men. All that is unknown, even to her cleaver mind. Once received, Pandora curiosity overwhelmed her and after much thought broke open the sealed latch and the contents of her jar spilled out to fill the earth and sea with evils. One item, however, was left within her unbreakable house. Hope remained under the tip of lid of the jar, and did not fly away. Before she could, Pandora shut the jar.

It was Hope! Deep down inside the hateful jar was the only thing that has sustained humanity in times of sorrow, pain, and misery - was Hope. The endless Hope that things will soon get better. And it's this Hope that keeps us going to this very day, our sole comfort in times of misfortune.

The box was said to have contained all the blessings of the gods. These were meant to be preserved for the future benefit of the human race. Pandora was instructed never again to open the box.
