a day at the beach


This was the second stop motion week for the summer camp i help teach... these kids were amazing.

i broke them up into three groups to make the scene
1. sky
2. ocean
3. land

then everyone helped move the little objects and creations around during the shoot.

Underwater Adventure!


I now have a copy stand, so I tried to play around with multi planing in this one. It didn't turn out as I expected (or as good as I'd hoped--the close up of the puppet is super creepy), but it was fun to experiment. I shot this with Dragon Stop Motion, a very powerful program, albeit still a little buggy. Can't wait to keep trying out new techniques with my radical home studio.

Fifteen Pennies


A short stop-motion film made with fifteen pennies.

The soundtrack was cut from a live solo synth violin performance , in a studio set held several weeks after the rough cut of the animation came together.
