I am happy to announce the release of the first Volume of the Architectural Visualization Modeling, Rendering and Animation Series from VirtualGFX.

This first volume was recorded using Modo 302 but all of the content remains relevant for 401. The first volume is free for all of those that are interested. The Second Volume will be out for sale next month. It has been recorded using Modo 401. Volume Two will cover the exterior modeling of the Garcia House from the original CAD drawings designed by Killeen Studio Architects.

In Volume One I explore the Modo 302 interface and explain some of the basic tools that I will be using throughout the modeling tutorials in Volume Two. I talk about the two main techniques for architectural modeling (Boolean and Loop Slice). I explain the pros and cons of each method and the different situations in which they would be more beneficial for our modeling. I talk about the different methods that we have to import CAD data into Modo and which one is the best solution. I go over organizing and preparing the CAD data inside of Modo so they can be easily accessed during the modeling process. I go over some tips while dealing with drawings from architectural studios.

I decided to release volume one through Vimeo because it is the best way to share it with as many people as possible without getting into complicated hosting set ups. However, the video quality is standard. For those that are interested I am able to provide links to the HD MOV files of the tutorials. I am asking for a small fee just to cover the cost for the hosting. The frame size of the HD files is 1260x788. They are around 20min long and weigh between 100 and 150MB. If you are interested please send a paypal payment request to pachecojake.at.macdotcom for $6 per tutorial or $12 for the three tutorials. Make sure let me know which tutorial you are requesting.

Thank you for watching and I hope that you enjoy and learn from them.

Best regards,
Ernesto

What are Vimeo Albums?

Albums make it easy to organize a collection of videos. They can be used to display videos together, or sent to friends as a playlist. You can even arrange the order of videos in each album.

You can add a video to one of your albums or create a new album from the "Add" tab on video pages.

Albums can also be used to show videos on other web sites using Vimeo Widgets.
