I think I found The One.
So, I've been looking for an apartment in New York. This is the third one I've seen (I say "second" in the video, but I forgot about the first one I saw) - on 53rd and 9th Ave. It's ridiculously expensive - $2550!!! (I say $1550 in the video, perhaps because I am fantasizing ... it's definitely a grand more than that). For a 12 x 14 studio!!! But it has ... A WASHER AND DRYER, which is, sad to say, a dream of mine. I plan to do laundry ALL THE TIME.
I'm filling out an application this very moment.

Apartment Hunting: Part 2
Eh, eh, ehhhh. This apartment just didn't do it for me. The location wasn't fantastic (West 63rd & West End), I abhor parquet floors (UGHHH), I dislike strongly subway tiling, and the building felt like the Holiday Inn. Just a big yuck. For $2100!
I felt badly when I was filming it because I wanted to say what I really thought ("the kitchen is hideous!!") but the owners were there. So I couldn't.

My Apartment
So I moved into the apartment I live in currently back in June of 2005, with my then boyfriend, although I kept paying my rent at my old place - on Park & 23rd - until October of that year (it served as a very expensive, very inconvenient closet). We lived there together until we broke up last August, 2006. My ex went to Europe, LA & Asia and then he basically moved in with his new girlfriend. The deal was that he would get the apartment back as soon as I found a new place. Which ended up being a little over a year after we broke up ... oops?
