The Orioles - Yankees game was fun, except for the final score and the amount of Yankees fans that drove down for the game. I was surprised that the Yankees played their starters as long as they did considering there was nothing on the line for them. Of course the Orioles sat a lot of their starters and it showed. I would say the crowd was about 55% Yankee fan. Some of the Orioles players were at the gates prior to game time giving away team photots and one of them was telling the Yankees fans that the free photos were $2.50 for Yankees fans :) I've gotten used to stuff like this going to Nationals games, where there is always a large contigent of the other teams fams in attendence (I guess because so many people come to the DC area to work for the federal government and suck-up our tax dollars). I took video of the last out yesterday with my old digital camera; which I'll post sometime later tonight or tomorrow.

I kept a close eye on the out-of-town scoreboard during the game to follow the Mets historic collapse. It must suck to be a Mets fan right now. I'll have to check out the New York papers later to see what they have to say about it.

One final thought; since I've been going to mostly National League games over the past three years I've become convinced that the DH is an abomination and must go. It takes a lot of the drama of a close game in the later innings away. Go back to the way the game is supposed to be played! [less]

A sad day for me, considering both the teams I follow are done for the year after today. We're going to the Orioles game today against the Yankees. I had hoped it would be a game the Yankees needed, but since it's not they'll probably sit a lot of players.

My Nats still have a chance to help decide the NL East. Now that the Mets won yesterday I'm hoping for a three way tie between the Mets, Phillies, and Padres. If anyone gets footage of the Phillies or Mets today let me know so I can post it to the channel. [less]

I will be watching the scores tonight with great interest to see if the Mets drop out of first place in the east. Nothing against the Mets, but I'm hoping for a Marlin sweep so I witness one of the biggest collapses since I've been watching baseball. It's also nice that my home team the Nationals were able to play a part. I was able to attend one of the Nats wins against the Mets last week. The only downside to a Mets meltdown would be that the Phillies would win the division, and their fans will be even drunker and more obnoxious at the games next year. [less]
