Every year, my friends and I go to a small local music festival called Truck Festival (because it's hosted by 'Truck Records'). When we first started going, only about 1500 people went. Since then it has grown and now about 5000 people go. In 2007 it got rained off and postponed from July to September. Because it got postponed, the line-up changed a bit. A young girl has a whole day of activities planned for her only day off, but then finds out she has to work. I wrote, directed, shot, and edited (on a flatbed) this 16mm short film for my Cinematography 1 final. My first venture into directing children and shooting 16mm with only a scripty as crew. Original score composed by Cory Weaver. This short was shot on Kodak 7266 Black and White Reversal Film with a Bolex H16 Reflex camera.

On a recent visit to Las Vegas my wife had I stayed at the Bellagio on the the Strip. Our room, on the 27th floor, overlooked the Bellagio's man-made Lake Como. I shot the video approximately 4:00PM facing east-south-east, using the Canon HV20 in the Program AE mode. I enhanced brightness and contrast during the edit. Music is by Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman and is titled "Time to Say Goodbye." The best way to experience the fountains is in person. They are an engineering marvel; the experience can be quite moving.

Taken with a Nikon D300. Camera set to lowest resolution available, 2144 x 1424 using JPEG "normal" compression. Exposures are one per second for 1/2 second @ f5.6, ISO 800, 18mm, 601 images. Video created with QuickTime Pro V7, sized to 800x531 @ 30 fps. I'm a bit disappointed with quality of the JPEG stills. I may try JPEG "fine" or TIFF next time. A friend showed me Andrew Curits's Cinco de Mayo time lapse and I had to try it for myself. Andrew's stuff is amazing and far superior. You really should look at it. I am only a humble beginner. The blue light on the light pole at the right edge of frame in the last couple seconds is the always professional and courteous local PD checking on me.
