Here's a cool bridge about two (2) miles long !

Located on the columbia river, spanning Oregon with Washington state. It's is a bit scary traveling on this very narrow two lane road... at 55 Mph. Some people want to go even faster. There are no shoulders to pull over and if a car breaks down the entire traffic comes to a halt.

The movie was taken on the Oregon side. None of the footage was usable from the Washington side, due to fog and haze... plus it's more than 2 miles away.

If you afraid of height, this bridge will scare you to death.
I am assembling a non-HD view as I drive across later. Please take a look. I had to use my canon digital camera because this HV20 can't take rock solid video in a car, due to the 'rolling shutter' gizmo ... as how these things work.

The opening scene is perfect.
I had to run like crazy to get to the spot (300 yards) when I saw this huge cargo ship approaching the bridge. I slapped down my tripod and I started to record. A few seconds later it would have been too late. You'll see why.

Not many ships come and go and this was it!

At the base of this bridge there is a park where a memorial dedicated to people-of-the-sea. Some perished out in the sea, some passed away on land, but wanted to be remembered as such.
I'll do another segment on that as well.

By using several copies of one high resolution panoramic photo collage (6400 x 1200 pixels) one can more or less disguise the fact that in PS3 every motion (pan or zoom) is linear.
The travelling is very smooth, and by using the special "image" version of the WME-9 codec, the resulting video clip has the same - unmatched - high quality as the original photos! As always the quality should be judge by downloading the original WMV file. Vimeo provides a fine service to the community, but of course each file conversion means a certain loss of quality.
In fact at first the panoramic collage measured 12800 x 2400 pixels but we know that PS3 has limited the size of any side to 7000 pixels.

Shot in 2001 this video takes you the south of france. We are passing the bridge over the river Ardèche and drive through the little village.

Shot with a Sony TRV59 Hi8-Camcorder seven years ago. I left the stupid fader-effect at the beginning on the clip. I looks very retro ;-)
