Obviously I haven't done much to my channel yet. I did add a photo/banner, change some colors, add my first video, role, and calendar posting... all easily and fluidly.
Sure there were a few bugs at the onset - as expected. For some reason when I was trying to add boxes, it would prompt me with a "w" and then the box when then appear. I actually wrote this blog already but decided to hit the "add a new box" button and it erased everything I just wrote her. Oh well. I'm sure the Vimeo gang will figure it out - they always do.
I think it's rather annoying I can't change the tagline just by clicking on it. It currently reads, "testing vimeo channels to see if it's really as great as jakob makes it out to be."
From just the first impression it would seem very easy to use with plenty of these tiny widget/modules/thingamajigs for us to play with. The rss feed is nice too. Is Vimeo going to incorporate a "channel" link to the top nav?
Vimeo channels makes it a one stop shop for all your video, blogging, and photo needs.
Will this catch on after the initial buzz and usage? Heavy vimeo users may like this. I'm a moderate uploader, but heavy viewer. We'll see if this catches on with individuals like me.
Unless Vimeo doesn't care. In which case kudos to jakob for not giving a shit. He's a visionary that regardless of whether you may like him, you have to respect his tenacity in pushing this through.
Kudos. [less]
