I’ve always worked at smaller shops/firms. I’ve liked being a part of the obscure, lean, start-up and contributing directly, with little interruption and bureaucracy (although just as much tact is required, if not more). Sure, some of them don’t work out and fall into the abyss where all the other failed ventures/projects go, while others get taken over, mutated, and chopped up so that what remains is nothing like what I signed up for. Still, I felt I participated and contributed to something, got something back, and kept my soul in the process - something I doubt I can say if I worked for something bigger.
Lately though, I am reconsidering my stance on big firms. I’ve spoken to friends at the bigger financial and technology firms - they seem to have many positive things to say about their experiences. And as I’m finally reaching a “quarter-life crisis” I think it’s fair to say I may take the plunge in 2008… Thoughts? 
Besides, is the corporate soul really that bad?  [less]

Approved ANDA revoked: A company I interned at got an ANDA (abbreviated new drug application) revoked despite getting it initially approved.
While I initially thought this was a big deal, it’s actually not that uncommon. But this is after all a generic drug app and the fact that it’s original patent holder is now up against one less generic maker, makes you wonder what kind of strings Endo pharm did to get this undone. [less]
