Technique: A windshield wiper mounted webcam is processed by a laptop, creating a time lapse where the exposures overlap (no movement is lost). The audio comes from pitch-shifting recordings from a large solenoid (modified bass speaker) which were capturing most low-frequency vibrations (the higher-pitched sounds are music playing in the car). Notes: The original length was about 26 minutes. There is a cut near the beginning due to some corrupted video, but it's hard to see. My sister Kiera McDonald drove, chose the path and music.

The 21" x 13" print can be purchased at my new store! http://store.thebigpugh.com This piece inspired the login illustration that vimeo commissioned from me for their redesign earlier this year; it is still in use throughout the site. The video is a condensed time lapse of screenshots over a several month period. Total physical drawing time is close to 40 hours and I'd add an equal amount of time for concept time and readying the print. A screenshot was taken every 5 seconds, which actually results in a full 18 minute video, but I shrunk it into a video under 7 minutes for entertainment's sake. My life has changed a lot since i started this, so I thought it appropriate to include my friends, family and loved ones since they all were on my mind throughout the creative process. Enjoy!

I just upgraded to HD and purchased a Canon HV30. Here's a quick video I created using the first footage I shot with the new camera. For anyone interested, the video was produced in Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 and the Magic Bullet "Neo" filter was used to achieve the washed-out green look. The HV30 was recording at HDV (PF30) and set to cine mode.

I recently received my twoneil 35mm adapter and was contemplating the first thing I was going to shoot. One thing was for sure, I didn't want it to be a "test." There are already plenty of twoneil tests to view on vimeo. Those who know me will attest that I am a bit obsessed when it comes to shaving. For the past two years I've been exclusively using products from The Art of Shaving and last year my wife purchased a straight razor and strop for my birthday. It's taken a while to learn the technique and I'm still learning with every cut, but I've been using it ever since. The idea of shooting a shaving video crossed my mind on more than one occasion, so I thought this was a good a time as any. The footage was shot on my Canon HV30 using a Nikon 50mm f/1.8D lens and edited in Adobe Premiere Pro. I wanted the video to have a sort of washed out, clean, and sanitized look so I used Magic Bullet for color correction and implemented the "Punchy" preset.
