At first I was going on a completely different direction with this piece. I wanted a dynamic movement in the background while the foreground remained in normal speed. Since we shot the footage very late in the night (2-3 o'clock if I'm not mistaken) there were only a few cars passing by. So I decided to go on a completely different direction. Do the piece on really slow motion. This is a 20 second movie stretched to 2 minutes. I'm quite happy with the result though I would have preferred a 3 or 4 minute piece. It would accentuate even more the feeling of movement in a static picture. The footage is also color corrected and adjusted to give the appropriate feeling.

this video is based on the brian eno/harold budd piano composition of the same name. the song in relation to its title made me think of that space of time between when you first try to think of something and when you actually remember it. this video illustrates that lack of clarity. someone's face...someone's name...that one moment...it's not quite remembered yet. this piece was made in May of this year, but after an unfortunate series of events i found myself with neither a hard copy of the video nor the final cut pro file. so i went back to the original DV tape and i am re-editing it; partially from memory but also with a fresh perspective. i don't have time to finish editing it now, but i will finish as soon as classes are out for the winter break.

Documentation of a dishwasher's operation, as taken from inside. "Ultra Wash III" is the model name, as manufactured by Kenmore. The camera used was a Canon A610 in video mode, with a security "peep hole" used as a fisheye lens. The camera was inside of a duct-taped plastic jar. Incorrect white balancing and various light sources of different color temperatures led to an other-worldly sensation.

This is the first formal test of the "Inkjet Printed Film Process." The frames of video are arranged on a Super8 template in Photoshop and printed on transparency film (the kind used for overhead projectors.) Then, sprocket holes are cut out and the film is spliced together. This video is a screenshot of the projector's movie screen.
