    I'm editing in FCP on a PPC machine.

    I imported a couple of files using the XDCAM Transfer(v2.5.1) then it stopped working. Turns out it's only the 24p formated stuff that won't import for some reason the interlaced works fine.

    The files show in the transfer window but they are grayed out as opposed to the black file names of the other clips.

    I looked at the information window and there is nothing written by the codec line for the 24p clips.

    Anyone got any ideas or solutions?

    Sounds odd, I think we would have heard more about this if it was a widespread problem.

    A post on the EX1 forum on dvinfo.net would probably get you a better response.

    you were right - found some info on it

    You have to have FCP 6 to import the 24p and more advanced codecs.

    I'm in FCP 5 and the HDV codecs apparently just randomly work with the interlaced footage

    So looks like I have to upgrade - Curse you Apple!
