Community Forums / Vimeo Projects / The PGAP (Personal Goal Achievement Project)
- Be nice: Even if you disagree with someone, you need to keep your tone civil and reasonable.
- Keep on topic: Please keep discussions relevant to each topic and avoid multiple topic posts.
- Don't Spam: Show restraint with your posting frequency. We're all doing cool stuff on Vimeo, but if we post about it too much, it can be distracting.
- Respect the Staff: The entire Community Staff were users once, just like you. We try very hard to answer everyone's questions, so please be cool.
- Still have questions? Watch this tutorial.
We recommend starting a Group for projects so users can collaborate and see all the videos in one place.

Tell us a personal goal of yours, and then you have to provide video evidence that you're making progress towards that goal.
We'll hold you accountable. Maybe we can organize "Prove-It Parties" every once in a while. You'll choose your goal, your pace, your deadline, etc. We'll watch your videos of your own progress. We're gonna be so proud!
Some possible goals:
-writing a novel
-building a website
-going for a jog once a week
-reconnecting with your old family and friends
-cleaning out your room/garage/attic/basement/file cabinet/room/in-box/life
-uploading a video to vimeo once every two weeks
-untangling your earphone cables
-whatever's important to you!
I'm gonna try writing another novel. And this time, I'm gonna finish it. Of course, this is gonna be one hell of a long term project.
gimme the breakdown. target date of completion? any kind of mileposts? have you heard of National Novel Writing Month? (nanowrimo.org)
they're tagged with "project awesome" if you wanna see them, but it's kinda my own thing
this project is different though, it's got goal setting which is totally cool
You need to decide on a tag for us to use.
I'll make a commitment to posting something in Japanese every two weeks, how's that?
I'm a big fan of new words.
I'll put up a video explaining more about this project. In the meantime, feel free to select a goal and/or upload your first goalproving update!
Awesome!
there's plenty of time and plenty of goals, and you can do multiple goals within this project.
just start with the easiest one and let's get rolling.
hope you will support me so that i can achieve it.

Something really cool happens: While HannahMai cleans out her closet, we get to witness her recounting memories and stories related to the various objects she unearths.

I think I'll learn a new tune, or a least keep working on the ones I know until they are good enough to show on Vimeo.....
P.S. Hey Jchap check out the New Hendrix-electrified!!!! I put the camera closer to my hands and you don't have to look at my wooden birds! vimeo.com/clip:157642
To learn is to lose fear of the unknown my friends.....
You all taught me how to create and upload video files!!!! Thanks gang!
How's that for a big goal?
And you all at Vimeo are going to help me make that happen.
I have been working for 2 months so far, and I need 2 more months to make this happen.
The best part is it will take a little from "the rich" and give to the hardworking regular guys and gals who deserve a little more cash and with that a bit more time to enjoy life :-)
Anybody wanna track my work to keep me motivated?
No BS!- Enrique
I'll be happy to help keep you motivated, but do I get to know any more details about your project? is it a company or a website you're starting? how are you going to use video to PROVE your progress to us?
I was reading a question as to why more people don't use vimeo?
Not that many people know how to use their technology! Especially people older than about 30. It's as simple as that.
Many people have cameras. Many people have computers. But they don't know how easy it is to make videos and share them.
I taught myself out of boredom how to use my camera and computer.
Had I not been sitting home letting a torn achilles heal itself I wouldn't be here either.
So here is my question. Why doesn't someone at Vimeo make a video on HOW TO MAKE A VIDEO and THEN HOW TO TRANSFER IT TO THEIR COMPUTER, then HOW TO UPLOAD TO VIMEO...... Belive it or not- the everyday idiot like myself has no idea how easy and fun this is. If one of you all can pull this off and show people how easy it is- surely this site will become more popular..... It's a no brainer!
Jchap - Does this make sense? Or am I off my rocker?

Maybe these clips should appear on the homepage for new users. The whole site is getting overhauled soon though, so I'm sure they will do something like that then :)
