    I know Vimeo is in the process of switching to mp4, but currently it seems unpredictable, which encoding is being used. Most of my uploads first get the VP6 HD encoding. Sometimes I have the option to reconvert, and sometimes after I update the video file it is then being encoded as mp4. Is this Russian roulette?

    The VP6 HD quality usually is disappointing with clearly visible 4x4 pixel mosaics. That is not the case with the mp4 HD versions.

    My last video vimeo.com/4965984 once again shows the pixelation.

    We're still working on it before fully releasing HD MP4 encoding, the above videos will be in MP4 HD form shortly.

    The mp4 versions are ready and look much better. Thanks.
    Is there any other way to get it automatically before the official release. Seems silly to use these forums each time to get a acceptable HD quality. Can't you just enable the reconvert option by default for all videos and then always reconvert to mp4. Would save you some support hours.

    Same thing happend to me. I uploaded a video today to Facebook and vimeo. On vimeo the video looks ok, really pixlelated. I was/am very dissapointed.

    On Facebook the video is amazing (larger size view as well).

    Had/has me thinking about that plus membership I just spend $60 for. Not what I expected.

    I just posted a blog on my site about this. I was also amazed by how great facebook HD looked. I really hope Vimeo gets this sorted out.

    The Vimeo community is great, the user interface is intuitive and lots of people view the pages.
