- Be nice: Even if you disagree with someone, you need to keep your tone civil and reasonable.
- Keep on topic: Please keep discussions relevant to each topic and avoid multiple topic posts.
- Don't Spam: Show restraint with your posting frequency. We're all doing cool stuff on Vimeo, but if we post about it too much, it can be distracting.
- Respect the Staff: The entire Community Staff were users once, just like you. We try very hard to answer everyone's questions, so please be cool.
- Still have questions? Watch this tutorial.
We recommend starting a Group for projects so users can collaborate and see all the videos in one place.

Hello Vimeonites! You and 472 other people have the chance to recreate Star Wars: A New Hope. The entire movie split up into 15 second clips. Click on one of the scenes to claim it, film it, and upload it. You can have up to three scenes! When we're all done, we'll stitch it all together and watch the magic happen.
I’ve had this idea brewing for a while and have finally executed it with seamless integration with Vimeo! Using Vimeo as leverage for video crowd-sourcing has made me very excited about the possibilites of this experiment. If all goes well, I’m sure there will be more iterations of this project in the future. Have fun!
Jacob
1) To avoid an incomprehensible mess :)
2) Yes, I probably will add on the Star Wars soundtrack to the final compilation.
cheers
not a perfect stop-motion-scene, but made within 2 days without any experience and with realy bad equipment. hope you like it though.
And now, to figure out a way to kill Obi-Wan in a less embarrassing production.

Thank you.
that is one of a kind idea !
Also, you can just follow the starwarsuncut tag here on Vimeo. vimeo.com/tag:starwarsuncut
Is there a way to re-upload my clip?
Thanks again,
Jacob
Can I replace a video and keep the comments, likes, tags etc?
Sure can! On the top right hand side of a video page you will see the 'Settings' button represented by a gear icon. Click the 'Settings' button and from there, choose the 'Video File' option. This brings up the Replace feature, which allows you to upload a new video file, while retaining the comments, likes, tags, etc, just like you wanted.
BTW, being the 2nd clip I've ever animated, those 227 individual frames did test my tolerance for pain and patience during the shooting and post.
I have some shakycam behind the scenes clips I might also post.
You did say "be creative".
Edit: Oh, I thought I could upload through the regular Vimeo thing, but apparently I need to upload through the Starwarsuncut site. I get it, now.

q2 : the clip i choose has #22 has a few frames from the next scene, is it possible not to recreate that part ? #23 has the whole experience of leia in custody :)
2) It's best if you recreate as much as possible. If you recreate parts of the next scene, it will make it easier for me to edit and keep the continuity of the film.
