    hey,

what's the best format to upload a clip from final cut pro to this site?

i'm uk based and edit in 625/50 pal. i've uploaded one video and it had very bad interlacing.
is it a standards issue or something else?

If you are having interlacing problems (liness, jaggy edges) then you will need to deinterlace.

From FCP Export -> Using Compressor

In compressor open up the Quicktime 7 compatible folder and choose the H.264 800Kbps (H.264 for high-bandwidth connections) setting.

That works really well. I'd keep the width/height 480x360 (the default) Under filters tab check the Deinterlace filter.

ah, tried that, and it made it worse!!

i then de-interlaced the video tracks in fcp (using the filters) and it's all sweet.

I uploaded these videos without de-interlacing
    vimeo.com/732389
    vimeo.com/733900
I looked for the box to check and couldn't find it. So I went for it without de-interlacing. I looks pretty good but isn't as clear as I would like.

I have now since found the filter section in compressor. There is no lines tho. Will de-interlacing help my over all resolution?

When I used to use i movie I always had problems with lines, de-interlaced or not. with FCP I don't seam to get the lines ever.

What should I do? Is the best option to de-interlace in FCP?

I am recording in 1080i and have always thought de-interlacing would be super important, but those vidoes look okay..?
