Vimeo re-encodes in "HD mode" when a video is over 800 pixels wide (801 pixels or more). Could you please change that to 799 pixels? This will allow people with widescreen DV cameras to export as 800x440 (that's the right resolution for aspect ratio 1.000 for widescreen DV cameras) and still get the better quality. I am asking for this pixel in particular, because Sony Vegas Movie Studio (the plain version) has a cap on 800x600 exporting size. Its users can't export to higher than 800pix wide. So it would be nice for them, for both NTSC and PAL Vegas Movie Studio users, to export as 800x440 and get the HD mode. :)

It's actually 848, which we chose as the 16:9 compliment to 480 pixels of height. Unfortunately we have to draw the line in the sand somewhere, 799 is starting to get a lot smaller than 1280.

ok, 848 sounds good. I suppose it's 848 and more, not over 848 right? :)

All the new panasonic cameras shoot both 1280x720 and 848x480 in 30 fps. Could you please process 848x480 as HD? Wouldn't it make so much sense? 1280x720 just takes soooo long to upload, and eats away all of my bandwidth allowance!

...Please don't scale down my beautifully compressed 848x480 movies!
