Has anyone else experienced "Buffer Overflow Error" and "Data Error" messages when recording with the Sony HDR-SR5 or any other hard drive-based camera? I've done a little research, and it seems everyone having this problem is using it for the same thing I am when getting the error - recording live music. I keep hearing "get an external mic", but I'm just curious if this is a camera flaw, or is there anything I can do to fix it without adding the mic.

(granted, I will eventually get a mic, but just don't like having a camera with this major of a flaw)

hi there, you need an external mic to record music, or you will end up with this problem, or else you may also have problems with clipping, the onboard mic is only really for dialogue, An external Mic like the RODE VIDEO MIC, is perfect for music.! "Rode VideoMic" $150.00 or £74.GBP

The Rode VideoMic is a Shotgun MIC and can deal with all dBs. (I say, BUY today don't DELAY)...
Always make sure the SDHC memory card if you use one, is Class 6, 6mb per sec.! (but u have a hard drive right)?
