.
I know how to accomplish the above for YouTube (there's an swf "t" argument in the video's page, so just use php's file_get_contents on the video's page and do some regular expression preg_matching), but for Vimeo videos, I'm baffled.
Anyone have any idea?
Thanks for the help!
The good news is that if all you want is to download the video file to have it locally on your machine, there is already an easy way to do that, just click on the download link at the bottom right corner of the sidebar on that video detail page (under "Downloads") to have the original uploaded file.
orbit downloader and grab work to download the flv..
haven't tried playing it back anywhere..
i am trying to do that to.
But what is moogaloop player?
Where can i find it?
Go to any video and click the "embed" button. That will give you the code to embed the video. That is moogaloop.
You guys should really work out a chromeless player that maintains your watermarking, link back to vimeo and potential future embedded ad layering. Your player is very nice but ultimately if your competitors (aka YouTube) offer this and begin to offer better quality content you'll be at a disadvantage.
I have already tryed that, and it works :)
Now i have another problem that i am trying to resolve.
I have a component inside flash that is a media player, wich plays .flv's and another formats.I want it to have imagine 200px width 200px height, but when it loads the .flv from "moogaloop", and when i see my flash file(.swf) inside the internet browser, it looses the width and height and goes fullscreen.
I know it is possible to maintain the width and height, because i have already saw an example of that by a user of this forum.
Can someone point me some directions.
I think the opposite
- Neil i don't think you are seing this in the right point of view.In disadvantage will vimeo be, if they don't support this kind of technlogy.
I have read a lot abou the flash advantages and disadvantages, and all the myths related to the flash dont's, but the true is that, it's use is growing and growing.
The vimeo watermarks appears always inside the flash file, so if an user that sees that, he can link back to vimeo if he want.
So that its not a problem
