I'm trying to upload a video vimeo.com/910495 and the conversion keeps failing.. Tried twice with the same result. Any ideas?

    1280x 720, 30fps
    191mb

Upload completes but the conversion fails.

Might be a format that Vimeo does not support, e.g. Quicktime HDV, or Quicktime AIC. These are not supported. Try this tutorial to export with a codec that works: vimeo.com/forums/topic:3671

No, it's an MOV. I've uploaded others (smaller) in the exact same format before and audio has been extracted.

While this might be just a hiccup of Vimeo, in which case probably the admins who read this forum will take care of it, you have a misconception about what is MOV. MOV is a video container format, not a video codec format. This means that inside the "MOV" container, many different video formats can be hosted. From h.264, to mpeg4-SP, to AIC, to HDV, and many more. Unless you didn't export the version that iMovie saves as AIC or HDV inside the MOV format, Vimeo should support your files.

Same goes for AVI btw. It is a container that can host many different formats. This is why there is DivX AVI, DV AVI, XViD AVI and about 100 more. A media player can playback some of these kinds, but not necessarily all of them.

Again, I will have to instruct you to read the link above. It shows how to export properly.

I guess I misspoke then. It's in MOV format. video is h.264 and no audio.

    Thanks
