So - ever since the site tweaks vimeo videos of all sizes, resolutions, and lengths stutter during playback - so much so that its really not worth it to try to watch a video. Also, my hd videos look worse than the ones i uploaded before the upgrade. I realize that sounds crazy but it's like we lost some room for quality or something, i know i didn't change my conversion settings.

Anyone else having this problem?

I've been noticing that now the Vimeo video applet sometimes decides to change to 2x2 pixel mode (ie, halving the resolution).

It seems to only happen when my CPU is working hard enough that the frame rate suffers a little.. so mainly with fullscreen HD videos.

I'd really like to see an option to turn off this downscaling because the videos look terrible once that happens.. and I'd take a framerate hit if it meant keeping the quality. I'm running a Core 2 duo E8400 @ 3.0ghz so my CPU can keep up...

The stuttering on Vimeo has reached unreal levels. I completely agree it's rendering the service useless. I really hope it's addressed soon, I really like everything else about the service.. but what good is it if the video is stuttering constantly..

please make sure you don't have any other CPU heavy programs running - check your activity monitor
