There has to be a way among the knowledgeable to upload straight to the acount and avoid the double wammy that Vimeo gives us today.

I'm sure that many are as anal as I am when encoding the final version to our computers. Settings are tweaked and perfected over oceans of coffee.

What are your final web settings? Is it even h.264 (that Flash supports)? If not, I'm 100% sure that it's a non-issue for people to upgrade their Flash player, an almost semi-automatic process anyway...

I want parameters, so that if I stay within them, there won't be any additional encoding done to my videos.

Still- a big fat 'thank you' for excisting in the first place.

We will always convert your video to flash until h.264 becomes viable to the masses. As far as encoding goes, try our recommended settings - vimeo.com/help/compression

But my question sort of remains...

What are your flash settings then? I can upload an .flv, no problem at all! If that's what you need, I'd be happy to provide it!

It would be nice to be able to go from 'master' to your final file format regardless of what it is.

    Thanks.

PS. Youtube already exists. People come here because of the higher quality. You might be surprised how nimble the "masses" would be at adapting to "the future" if they were told that was what they had to do. And honestly, if someone all of a sudden stood up and started slapping people across the face, asking them why the freck they're still using IE6- that'd be fine with me. Sometimes you just need to say "I know better- this is how we are doing it now".
