I've been trying various ways to get my video to play in its 'proper' aspect ratio of 16.9 but with no luck.
I'm making files straight from my Pinnacle Studio editing software. I've tried various options, but non so far play in Widescreen on Vimeo. They just play in old fashioned 4.3 & so look all squashed up.
They do play in Widescreen if I play them via my Windows Media Player on my PC.
Has anyone got any ideas on how I could solve my problem please?

Vimeo doesn't support non-square pixel aspect ratios, so you need to export in a true widescreen resolution, e.g. 640x360.

cruisa, you could try exporting in DivX at 704x396 or 704x400, 150 KB/s or 1200 kbps and your video should display correctly and hopefully stay under the 500MB limit.

    Hope this helps.

I only have the 'fixed' Pinnacle Studio options I'm afraid, so looks like I just can't do it :-(
I just presumed 720x576 at MPEG-2 would be OK, but it isn't.
The only other option sizes at MPEG-2 are 480x576 & 352x576

These are all 4:3 resolutions, you need 16:9 ones. I am 100% sure that Pinnacle Studio does allow you to change resolutions by typing them in its "custom" mode.

    Thanks for the advice.
I've had a look at my Pinnacle Studio & even in 'Custom' mode unfortunately I can't change the resolutions :-(
When I upload to the likes of You Tube it looks OK, as it shows the Widescreen movie within a 4.3 box.
Is 16.9 not very common in the US? Its the standard over here in the UK now & 4.3 is very old fashioned.

Please follow the Pinnacle tutorial in the sticky thread, it has instructions there.

I have the exact same problem as david. I´m not sure which sticky thread you are reffering to Eugenia.
