My name is Harrison J. Bahe and I'm an overweight, sexually confused, Native American independent filmmaker living on the small reservation of Fort McDowell, Arizona.
I was born on August 27th, 1989 and I've lived my whole life in this same room. When I was seven years old, my cousin accidentally threw a rock to my head causing me to lose most of my memory before that.
I started filmmaking in 2003 with some friends. No one took it seriously in the beginning. But then near the end of 2004, we started making real films. The first one we made was the Finale of Joey. And from there we grew and grew in size. We were in the golden era of filmmaking. I made friends with this kid named Nik Martinak who also shared a passion for filmmaking. We became friends but due to an unfortunate mishap during a shoot, we became enemies. I was in the dark ages of my career.
My skills lowered and lowered and people became less interested in making films. I started making my own movies by myself. You know, with me talking to the camera. Some were good, some were bad. This lasted from about early 2007 to late October.
Then I sent out a bulletin asking for help in anyway to film. That's when I met Kris for the first time. He brought Sean along with him and we shot A Brief Shootout II. Those two resurrected my passion for filmmaking and we now left the filmmaking depression and hit sky high with The Wand Duel, A Boy Named Sue, and pretty soon... Redemption.
Friendship, that's something I believe in. Like my friendship with Kris Thompson, Sean Tyler, and Gary Roy. If it weren't for their friendships, I would be in some slimy ditch face down with no purpose in this world other than to rot into the earth. I am extremely lucky to have friends like them. They are all the reasons why I'm here now happier than ever and all I have to say is that the Captain is here to stay for a very long time.
And there you have it. The life of Harrison J. Bahe summed up on Vimeo.
