I quitt skateboard movies when I entered film school.

Now, after 5 years I came back to develop a new style of narration in skateboard movies.
Together with Chris Heck, who is also a protagonist in this movie we try to make our way.

Quentin Tarantino always chilled in the video rental store and was bored of all the same movies. The same happened to with me and all the Skateboard videos.

So,
"Born To Skate" it is a roadmovie, which does not only show skateboarding, but life in its true sense.

The film itself will be about 60- 90 minutes long.
There is still, a lot of hard work has still to be done.

Running along the ridge of mt Palomar mountain "ridge soaring" - this puts roller coasters in a whole new perspective. Ridge running is based on the wind and lift coming off the top of the ridge.

The HD version is a big difference from the pocket camera, and to make it all more fun, we enjoyed the entire run and ended up in 400 feet per minute thermal lift... time to climb and play again.. Oh Yeah.

Shot this first light for a corporate job. No surf and grey skies for a week then the day I got up early - nice glassy 3 to 4 footers came rolling around the point with blue skies. Shot with a polarizer on the EX1. Used twixtor to slow down some segments.
