Los Angeles based female-fronted rock band.

Born in Louisiana, Hydrovibe began when vocalist Heather St. Marie joined forces with guitarist/vocalist Mat Dauzat to create a sound that combined dynamic, guitar-driven music with extremely powerful and commanding female vocals and rich vocal harmonies. Quickly experiencing great success in the south, the band wanted to branch out and it became clear that Hydrovibe would ultimately need to move to Los Angeles. Half of the band was simply unable to make such a life-changing move across the country, leaving St. Marie and Dauzat the tough challenge of relocating and reforming Hydrovibe in the City of Angels.

Starting January 9th, 2007, Hydrovibe was featured on METAL EDGE Magazine’s “Corporate Punishment Tour” with Amity Lane (formerly Trust Company). With the overwhelming success and response from that tour, Hydrovibe decided to continue touring the US throughout the Spring and Summer of 2007. They were also featured on the “Operation Rock Tour” (dedicated to the men and women of the United States Armed Forces), which continued through Fall of ‘07. While on that tour, Lion’s Gate flew Hydrovibe back to Los Angeles to shoot a music video with director Stephen Borasch for their song “Killer Inside - Messed Up World remix” featuring actress Shawnee Smith. The video is featured on the SAW III Director’s Cut DVD and the SAW Trilogy Boxed Set, which hit stores in late October of ‘07.

Through 9 months of solid touring in 2007, Hydrovibe made quite a statement in the independent music world. The band solidified (both on stage and off) and further developed their unique sound on the road. “The songs were road-tested for 9 months and became much stronger than when we had initially set out on tour… the band got a tight unit as well,” said St. Marie. “So, we decided to scrap everything and return to the studio to re-record this album when we got home from touring.”

“It was a no-brainer for us,” said Dauzat, “we were just babies when we left for tour a year ago! We already had great chemistry, but we have really grown strong together as a band on tour, and the songs have greatly benefitted. I mean, what better pre-production for an album than playing the songs night after night for 9 months?”

Upon returning to Los Angeles in late October of 2007, the band went back to the studio Hydrovibe’s debut full-length album that includes several new songs as well as the road-tested 2007 live set. With the album nearing completion, plans are underway for Hydrovibe’s album release in 2008.
