An old abandoned radiostation. Located in the middle of nowhere.

The place was quite intruiging, theres was noone around, just a lot of nature and a few abandoned buildings. All the buildings were locked.

The weather was great, too, and we happened to have a cheap handycam with us.

20 months ago my step father Steve had a mountaineering accident, which left him paralysed and in need of major rehabilitation. Six months ago he learnt with my help to ride a bike, let alone walk or talk.

Helping him transfer his passion for barren harsh environments and technical climbing / mountaineering to cycling, through said harshness, has been both a privilege and an amazing story of fortitude and courage..... it does help him being belligerent as hell, but quite simply put all who meet him and hear the story and then see us cycle off are amazed..

This is the first part of, what little I managed to film of our trip, as we went around we got the photographic gear out and did our best to record the landscape as well. hopefully the subsequent films will give you a taste of the islands, our trip and our work.

Everything has been shot with my N95 phone both on and off the bike...8gb is enough for a trip apparently..

720p footage of the Red Arrows taken In July 2007. Edited in Vegas to an instrumental version of "Rise Up" by Gregor Anderson. The footage was shot using the Canon HV20 using cine mode at high shutter speeds. Sharpen and grading done in Sony Vegas. I went for a combination of colour reversal and 16mm styles (grainy, saturated, constrasty look intentional) All shot hanheld (no time to prepare!)

The file is 720p VC-1 at 7.7mb/s (224mb) 3min 50 long. Let me know what you think!

This is a short film/music video I made in support of an instrumental album I'm working on called "The Revealing". The joint is called "Believe". I made this at a time when I needed to believe in myself and find my inner strength.I'm sure a lot of you have been down that road... So it was a trip when I heard this sample and my frame of mind during that moment: It just lined up. Like it was delivered to me... What came out in the process, and the "feel of the beat"-It was a perfect translation... anyway, sorry for the sob story...I love makin beats.
Made with my Hv20 and Imovie. please enjoy:)

<a href="http://www.vimeo.com/671262?pg=embed&sec=671262">Tree Stencil Cut and Spray Timelapse - Draft</a> from <a href="http://www.vimeo.com/user179430?pg=embed&sec=671262">Jaymis</a> on <a href="http://vimeo.com?pg=embed&sec=671262">Vimeo</a>.<br /><br />
This is a timelapse shot over several months totalling about 10 hours cutting and then spraying a stencil.

It still needs some tweaks to editing and motion, but it takes an extremely long time to render, and there are loads of other projects in the way, so I'd prefer to share it incomplete and warty rather than never showing it because it's not "perfect".

Tech:
Shot with a Pentax *ist DS Digital SLR. The frames were taken as quickly as the camera could record to SD card - about 1 frame every 1.7 seconds.

The camera was immobile on a tripod, the pan and scan (or "Ken Burns Effect" if you want to be all photo nerd) was added later in After Effects. I shot medium-resolution images, which gave me 1500x1000ish pixels, allowing quite a bit of resizing and moving around the frame.

The faster, motion-blurred action as the video progresses is also post-production, created by speeding up the clips and blending multiple frames together.

Cast:
Jaymis: Fast and Loose Stencil Cutting, Photography, Direction, Post-production.
Rachgirl: Slow and Meticulous Stencil Cutting, Motivation.
Irwin the Python: Distraction, Comic Relief.
(For reptile-heads: he's a Centralian Carpet Python - Morelia Bredli - more photos of him can be found here: http://flickr.com/photos/jaymis/tags/irwin/)

Music: Spook - Glorious.

64 days was the exact length of Pedal's production, the number of days we were out on the road. It feels really exciting to be releasing episodes again, I've been editing and filming the last few nights till 5 in the morning, and although it's been hell on my cold, I've had a blast doing it.

I'm anxious to get started on part 2 - when Amanda and I originally began writing the production related episodes, we were expecting to fit everything into 3 cuts. But that doesn't look to be the case any longer - we're finding we have a lot more to say, and many different layers of the whole experience to cover.

We'd love to hear your feedback - it will help greatly in deciding what questions to answer in what order. Thanks for watching.

First movie ever. New to camcorders and video editing. There is not much to it but I am proud of myself : )

The haze/fog was actually closer to steam, it was a bright sunny day but everything was evaporating so fast, it was actually this thick!

HV20 - all default settings - no changes in post production except scene fades.

Edit:
Seems my audio was offset some how. It cut off at the end. Also seems to be a bit laggy. Must have been Vimeo conversion.

I was the DP/Editor/Colorist/Foley-ADR Engineer on this micro-horror film. Shot in HD 1080.

We built the set in 3 days, shot for another 3 days, and sleeplessly edited the thing for another 3.

I've been friends with Myles (director) for almost 21 years now, and despite having common interests in film and production aesthetics we've never really worked on a project together. I think this one was quite a success for a 1.5 week concept-to-execution with no budget.

this video is based on the brian eno/harold budd piano composition of the same name. the song in relation to its title made me think of that space of time between when you first try to think of something and when you actually remember it. this video illustrates that lack of clarity. someone's face...someone's name...that one moment...it's not quite remembered yet.

this piece was made in May of this year, but after an unfortunate series of events i found myself with neither a hard copy of the video nor the final cut pro file. so i went back to the original DV tape and i am re-editing it; partially from memory but also with a fresh perspective. i don't have time to finish editing it now, but i will finish as soon as classes are out for the winter break.

<media:description>this video is based on the brian eno/harold budd piano composition of the same name. the song in relation to its title made me think of that space of time between when you first try to think of something and when you actually remember it. this video illustrates that lack of clarity. someone's face...someone's name...that one moment...it's not quite remembered yet.

this piece was made in May of this year, but after an unfortunate series of events i found myself with neither a hard copy of the video nor the final cut pro file. so i went back to the original DV tape and i am re-editing it; partially from memory but also with a fresh perspective. i don't have time to finish editing it now, but i will finish as soon as classes are out for the winter break.

Filmed with the Canon HV20 at the Robert Marshall Wildlife Preserve in the Florida Everglades. Casual filming, no tripod, etc. I nicknamed this alligator "Bubbles" because he was eating minnows and blowing bubbles (helps them submerge). I don't talk in the video the voices you hear are a couple from out of state, they were about 10 feet behind me but after they left it was just me and the alligator. Turn up your speakers at around 2:05 and you can hear a slight "growl". Keep in mind I grew up near the Everglades and have spent a lot of time near wildlife, I don't recommend getting as close as I did. Enjoy!

The centre of the screen moves forwards in time to a maximum of five seconds in relation to the volume of the music.

I'll be shooting some new slow moving car footage in a location with more character and less corners to re-make this video. This footage is from the start of the journey into dark country roads for The Half Rabbits' Spooked video. The camera I used at the time wasn't great in low lighting and occasionally focussed on the windscreen rather than the road.

Even a 2 1/2 foot baby alligator can have a bad day. This poor little guy's day went from bad to worse. I was filming some shots for "Alligator Creek" that day when I saw a baby alligator near the back of a car. He wanted it all to himself and chased away anyone who got near....including me. The guy talking in the video is the owner of the car. After the car was gone the alligator decided to have a snack (don't know what it was). He found out the hard way that a nest full of fire ants isn't willing to share..........you can see the ants crawling on him. The thumbnail above is a digital photo I took of him with the HV20 and does not appear in the video. It was shot later that day after the rain stopped. I'm unable to edit at the moment because my LCD screen is cracked :( so this is raw unedited footage. Enjoy! Filmed with the Canon HV20.

I've been making these 35mm adapter and spent about 4 months testing and refining the adapter to get this kind of footage. I'm always on the run when filming so I made the adapter light and compact.

<media:description>A quick time lapse video taken on various locations in Munich, Germany. Shot with a Canon HV 20, produced with Adobe Premiere Elements. Rendering lasted 95 minutes with a 4 GB Ram, Intel Core2 Quad/2,40 GHz and Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTX setting. Time lapse plus multiple parallel tracks represent lots of data that need to be chewed..

Alligator, iguanas, and other wildlife abound in this short film set to music shot with the Canon HV20. If you like nature/wildlife films check it out! Please leave a comment and let me know what you think. Watch for the alligator opening his eye at :20. If you look closely at 2:17 you'll see an alligator jump out of the water. Favorite shot: Baby alligator swimming around with a dragonfly perched on it's head. The thumbnail above is a digital photo I shot with the HV20 and does not appear in the video. Many of us are so caught up in the hectic everyday pace of our lives that we forget to open our eyes and appreciate the beauty of nature that's happening right before us. Take a few moments every day to stop and look, you'll find it no matter where you are.
