He commented on Tell Your Story! How Did You Find Vimeo?

It was a Sunday morning and I was listening to NPR... and they had a story about a hi res video hosting service. I had just made a little video about trekking in Nepal which was very murkily hosted on YouTube.... so I signed right up. The blog post I wrote about this is still quite popular, many people search for 'hi res video hosting': http://midmodcon.blogspot.com/2008/01/death-of-youtube-hi-res-video-hosting.html YouTube has since improved their video player and I have fewer embedding issues from there than vimeo... so we will see. But I prefer this site.

He commented on Blogger / MS Explorer / embedding issue

I use vimeo to host little video snippets for my blog (hosted on blogger). It's better than Youtube.... http://midmodcon.blogspot.com/ I have light knowledge of css / html. Most visitors to this blog use MS Explorer (unfortunately). With Firefox & Opera, embedding from Vimeo works fine -- apparently no issues. With MS Explorer, embedding doesn't work most of the time, but not all the time... I've checked the html and can't see where problem lies. Post where it works : http://midmodcon.blogspot.com/2008/04/found-drama-daffodils-rising.html Post where it doesn't: http://midmodcon.blogspot.com/2008/04/2008-gravel-grinder.html Thanks for any advice from the more adept... Jeff

He commented on What does vimeo have to do with Amazon?

It's a 'rent a datacenter and db tools' model, aka 'cloud computing'. The blog 'Rough Type' by Nick Carr covers these issues.
