I'm working on a very interesting project at the moment - hopefully with an old friend in the near future - which could include going to schools giving a talks on renewable resources and biofuels. Being back in Ireland for a fair while now after being in Egypt, France and China has given me time to re-assess my direction. And I have a lot of footage to use...so keep a look out for my new film about Egypt. I worked in Germany for over four years and Italy for four years - Norway, the USA, Holland and India but to name a few. For quite some time now adventure and diverse cultures have given me the chance see things in a different light. I was living in China - working within the education system for the Government for over a year too. That was an experience to say the least... I went to Egypt directly from France after working in the Alps – which was cool as I love skiing.
I’ve had my hand in every type of work there is – from joiner to furniture designer, chef to builder. I was in the forces for some years too - which enabled me to travel and see things I wouldn’t have normally seen. On leaving the forces I was a police officer for a while – which made me realize I wish I hadn’t – the whole episode opened my eyes too much for my own good I suppose.
As life hangs in the balance between good and evil, I can only hope that we – human kind – will be able to see beyond what we call our boarders – both mental and physical. As people get wiser we tend to accept differences that are normally associated with the “abnormal world” as I call it. But in reality we are all the same. We breathe the same air, fish in the same seas and oceans, and bleed the same colour when hurt. One day, I foresee people celebrating our differences in ore – well we can all dream…can’t we?
