Everyone is happy when their material needs are satisfied; but when they are in difficult situation, they are jealous of people who have better things. Life is temporary. Everyone passes, and they take nothing with them. OK to ask for more if to be used for the sake of ALLAH swt. All religions agree that we were created for mawla, not dunya. People want to work for civil service, where there is no honor in it compared to service to ALLAH.

All Prophets' missions are to teach servanthood.
Prophets and their families are never inheriting from materiality. Hazreti Fatima (ra) refused the universe for her dowry, asking instead for the ummah (nation) of her father Prophet Muhammad peace and blessings be upon him. People do injustice when they say she cared about dunya (the world). Abu Bakr Siddiq (ra) knew this about her. He knew that dunya is under the feet of Ahl ul-Beyt (the family of Holy Prophet). The judgement of Rasulullah (saws) is on those who speak against Abu Bakr.
