Since Apple's editing software will convert the footage anyway for AVCHD, the strength of the computer doesn't really matter unless Apple's intermediate codec for iMovie is computer intensive which I don't think it is. If you want a camcorder that the Mac can edit natively, than maybe the Sanyo HD2000A can be an option.
