10,000 images of items at a grocery store (1 image per frame at 30fps). Far from a complete catalog of items. If I had to guess I'd say this video shows only half of the total items in a store. This took me about 2 months. 600 pictures per hour..i took about 9000 of them, helpers took the other 1000. Sound is derived from the images using Max/MSP. About a year ago, we made this video ( http://vimeo.com/flagpolesitta ) just after moving into our new office. This fun after-work video project unexpectedly went on to get 1.5 million views, was written about in the Washington Post ( http://tinyurl.com/4m325s ), the BBC ( http://tinyurl.com/3b7yy8 ), and elsewhere, and inspired many other offices to make their own lip dubs (which you can see at www.officelipdub.com ). Amanda and I happened to take footage of Jakob as he blocked out scenes and prepared everyone for the shoot, which we did in one long shot on the first take. For those who enjoyed the finished video, hopefully this footage will show some insight into Jakob’s creative process, as well as how much fun it was to make this.

A friend's 30th birthday turned out to be the perfect excuse to get out the DV camcorder that had been sitting unused since it was given to me 5 years ago. My partner Simon and I just wanted to give a thoughtful gift that we had made ourselves. I had this idea to film a spoof parkour video. It took a while to convince Simon that he should let me film him, but I know he really enjoyed the process once we got started. The most challenging part was editing using a laptop with half the required RAM for the trial version of Adobe Premiere we'd downloaded. Especially when it came to exporting the finished film into an i-pod friendly format. I learnt way more about key frames, bit rates and aspect ratios than necessary, but it was educational. This is our first (and hopefully not last) attempt at video production.
