24fps didn't pop out of no where, it was all due to audio to start with. Its not THE standards, but that was the minimum required to deceive the eye from still motion pictures. The ability to manipulate light in motion in a digital domain today is insanely limitless. Still, its inseparable from its second element, sound. That's my principal.
