So, what are we up to? We always have a lot of great new features and improvements in the oven, so we've teamed up with Toyota to bring everyone a little sneak peak into what we're cooking up. Synopsis

Turns out there's a little known social networking site called Facebook where some of your guys like to share your videos with your friends. We are building a cool application that will make it fun and easy to share videos you like and track what your friends like.

it's really good! but it would be better if you could add one more option on drop down menu under "see videos 'user' 1. appears in 2. uploaded 3. likes", which lets the user pick one specific video of his/hers. Because i have only one video window and I want to show everybody what i think is my best work right there and then and hopefully encourage them to go check out other videos as well. Thanks for listening! you guys are amazing!

It would be nice if you could specify the default option on the profile page. I would like to set the default to "See videos Chris uploaded(or)appeared in" rather than likes.

This is a nice app for fakebook. Done with class as expected from CV. Thanks! I would like to see more preferences on this app like what video's to show and hide. that kinda stuff.

I want to embed a Vimeo video on facebook, so it immediatly plays just like YouTube videos do, right on the Facebook profile. How do I do that?

Great invention! But after downloading the Vimeo app. to FB, how do I get my own videos to show rather than staff likes? My Vimeo account is set to private but I'd like to share my videos with only my friends on FB.

Synopsis

Groups will function as mini communities on Vimeo. You'll be able to create groups, invite users, share videos, and connect with people around the idea of that group. Basically Groups will start where Channels left off: more usability, great new features, and better control over everything.

Iowa, Sean and Jacob are currently working like wild animals to get this done. We're finishing up the front end and polishing up engine. We're hoping to get this out in the next two weeks.

Can I assume that this will work in a similar fashion as Flickr Groups? If so, that's going to be a great way to easily share "like-minded" videos (vs Channels).

in general, yes. groups will be topical or thematic where you can share discussions, meet people, and share videos with people who share the same interests.

yes, this is mostly to let people know when there's a HD version of the clip available on vimeo. but we are investigating ways to offer HD embed.

This looks great. Especially integrating HD into embedded players will help with some podcasters or screen-casters. Can't wait!

Will the updated player also be on Vimeo itself?

right now we think this is a refresh only for our embed player but some of the design elements might trickle down to the on-site player as well.

these buttons only appear when you mouse over the video or when the video has finished playing.

COOL! I wanted embeddable HD sins i start uploading videos to vimeo. Then i was disappointed that i can't embed HD, I thought had to do something with bandwidth, but if you do that i hope you will not lower our weekly quota because we using too much bandwidth.

Great work! Looking forward to it. Especially that it makes "We HAVE HD" more apparent to the user. I was sooo pissed when Stage6 shut down.. I really cant stand the quality of f.YouTube (and all other clones) and was so happy when I found vimeo.. I know a lot of people would agree with me on how superior Vimeo is if they just knew that there IS better quality than youtube available.. Now they will know!

Synopsis

With all the new features and improvements to the site, we've been forced to rethink our organization of the Navigation bar on the top of each page. We've begun work to better organize our features and also provide contextual help when you visit any page on Vimeo. We hope these improvements will make it much easier for users to find what they want quickly and efficiently.
