Hi there

My name is Joe Hughes. I am a filmmaker from Sydney, Australia. I am a part of a team that are about to compete in the first Sydney 48 hr film competition. We have made several shorts and competed in a 24 hour competition, and this will be our first attempt at the 48 hour.

I notice that you have entered the 48 hour and I was hoping I can draw on your experience to help us out. Are you open to taking a few minutes to answer my questions?

* Would you recommend having a script ready to go (if possible) and then just adding the various elements they give you? Or, have you just created your scripts on the fly?

* Apart from putting a cast and crew together, and having all the gear ready, what other prep might you suggest we do in advance of the weekend?

* We were thinking that the script would need to be pretty simple, with maybe 1-2 main characters. Does this sound right?

* How much of the 48 hours have you usually used for writing, then shooting, then editing. For example, would you recommend we try to make sure we have at least so many hours to edit?
